Policies and Procedures

Schedule
3 year old class:  Monday and Wednesday 9:30-11:45*
4 year old class:  Tuesday and Thursday  9:30-11:45*

*Subject to change.  If adjustments are made, I will let parents know before the start of the 2015/2016 school year begins.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition for both classes of $50 will be due on the 1st day of every month.  A late fee of $10 will be applied if payment is not received by the 5th day of the month and will be applied weekly until payment is received.  Tuition will not be prorated for sickness/absences or if you withdraw your child from the preschool without 30 days notice.

A non-refundable fee of $35 due at time of registration in order to reserve your child's spot in desired class.

A fee of $2 will be added to monthly tuition for each late drop-off or pick-up.
Absences
Please notify me if your child will be absent by call or text (801)717-7869.  I do not offer a discount to tuition for absences.

Teacher absences will not likely happen, but if they do, I will notify each child's parents as soon as possible that class will not be held that day.  If class is canceled by me, a discount for that class will be given to the next months tuition.

Sickness
Please try as best as you can to keep your child home from school when they are sick to help prevent it spreading to myself and others.  I understand that sometimes symptoms don't show up until after others have already been exposed. If they show signs of the following please keep them home:
sever coughing
fever
runny nose with green discharge
vomiting/diarrhea within the last 24 hours
contagious rash
lice
any other illness/virus that is contagious

Drop off and Pick up
I will open the doors to the preschool at 9:30 for the start of preschool.  Any students arriving after 9:35 will be considered late and will have a $2 fee applied to the next months tuition.  Please be considerate of my time and the other children's time.  I will be asking that all children remove their shoes before the start of preschool.  If possible, help me out, and have your child wear shoes that they can put on/off all by themselves.  In order to help build good habits, plan to say good-bye to your child at the door.

At 11:45, I will open the door and let the children out to meet you. Please be out front ready to meet your child at that time.  Picking up your child later than 11:50 will result in the $2 fee to be applied to your monthly tuition.  I have a daughter in kindergarten that will need to be picked up soon after preschool is ended so I ask that you be considerate of my obligations and be prompt each and every day.

Snack and Treats
Each day of class I will provide the class with a little snack and drink.  I will provide a variety of snacks typically eaten by children this age (i.e. pretzels, crackers, cheese sticks).  Please let me know of any diet restrictions for your child.  I will do my best to accommodate those restrictions, but may ask that you provide snacks for your child if I find it too difficult or costly.  I will in turn, give you a small discount on tuition for doing so.

If you'd like to have your child bring in treats for the class on their birthday, you may, but are not required to do so.  The treat must be store bought, and if there are any allergy concerns for the class I will let you know.

Potty Training
Children should be potty trained in order to attend preschool classes.  If your child is mostly potty trained, but still having struggles, please send them in a pull up, rather than risking them having an accident during class.  I will not be able to change any diapers/pull-ups.  If an accident does occur during class, I may call the parent to help clean them up.  As best as possible, help your child to know how to use the bathroom by them selves.  I will provide opportunity during preschool for all children to have a bathroom break.  Please have your child bring a change of pants, underwear and sock each day to class in their backpack in case of accidents, as I understand that they do happen.

Curriculum
I'll be teaching the basic of counting, the alphabet, shapes, colors, sorting and other skill that will help transition them into kindergarten smoothly.  They will also learn respect, how to follow rules and instructions, sharing, and kindness.  At the beginning of the year I will give a simple assessment to each child to set a beginning of the year benchmark.  I will give of mid-year assessment, and an end of year assessment.  The important thing is that they improve on the skills by the end of the year and show progress in many/most of the skills.  Each child learns at different rates and should not be compared or expected to reach a certain level of learning before they enter kindergarten.
